“I can not put into words what a week at this place meant to me. I have never felt so wanted anywhere in my life. Everyone that helps there went so far out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable and had everything that I needed at all times. It is very obvious that Mr and Mrs swires put their blood, sweat and tears into making this place as perfect as it can be for veterans, first responders and caregivers. They picked the perfect group of people to mentor and volunteer their time and money to give me such a memorable experience. We were fed so much amazing food from the early morning before the hunt to the time we went to bed. I cannot wait to get back up there for any other event that I’m able to. “I was very fortunate to be a participant in Patriots Cove, first hunt! What an experience it was. It was very evident the amount of work that was put in to make this a successful event. Jeff Swire, and the generous land owners hit a home run 10 times over. Between putting in custom blinds that allowed anyone the opportunity to hunt and the food plots that kept the critters in the area it could not have been any better.
I was to thank Steve Kaminstein whose land I hunted for all but one hunt! I was able to watch a lot of deer and harvest a nice doe. Unfortunately the 8 point had other ideas and chose to turn in the wrong direction.
Thanks again to all who had a hand in making this event successful from the mentors, to the land owners, and the many others I am sure I have forgotten to mention.

The First Annual Hunt was in my eye’s a success. I know there were only 3 deer taken, but it is not about the kill it is about sharing the experience with others. We knew coming into this event that there would be issues that we would have to over come to make this even bigger and better for years to come.
The major issues we encountered were with crossbow’s. After talking to several reps with the crossbow industry hopefully that will not be an issue going forward. The stands were built to accommodate any physically challenged participate and they were spot on. Even though the stands were not an issue we can still improve on them by having the bottom of the elevated stands covered to allow hunting at all sites for hunters utilizing the track chair. The food and lodging at the Cove was extremely good. The mentors were a blessing. Just having them there to have a good laugh with was rewarding. I had the pleasure of having Neal be a part of my adventure and it thrilled me to sit in the stand with him. I knew from the start he was not a hunter and it was relieving because he allowed me to somewhat teach him tactics on calling.
Overall, this event was successful in many ways. It allowed two of the participants to see God’s wonderful creations in ways they haven’t experienced them in over 40 years. Everyone who was a part of this years event has their own personal issues they deal with everyday. By being here at Patriot’s Cove you feel the peace that God gives you to get away from all those thoughts and issues. You truly feel the love and see the support from everyone.
I would like to say thank you to all the land owners Steve, Chris, Warren, William and Jeff for opening your land up for men and women that you don’t know. Thanks to Justin at Rutt Huts, Final Rest Weapon Mounts, Ken at Creekside Outdoors. I am excited to know that Ron, Tim and myself are a part of this unbelievable team going forward to help and assist other Wounded Warriors and First Responder’s to experience what we had the pleasures of this year.”

I attend Fish for the Fallen this past weekend on Saturday 4/14/2018, and I didn’t want to leave. Patriots Cove is everything I been dreaming about and I’m so happy. That one of my brothers in the military has been able to fulfill his dreams and share it with his military family. Patriots Cove is a beautiful place were you could fish or just relax by the river and listen to the wildlife play in the woods.”
