This fund has been established to support the creation and installation of a new underwater observatory on the Beaver Run waterway at Patriots Cove for the charitable benefit of the community. Initial funding priority shall be given to capital costs for the observatory’s design, construction, installation, and necessary equipment. Following installation, the fund may also support environmental education, freshwater research, and community wellness initiatives centered around the underwater observatory and related watershed environments. This may include educational programming, scientific research activities conducted by nonprofit or academic institutions, environmental stewardship efforts, and structured nature-based wellness or therapeutic recreation programs that serve community members, including veterans and caregivers. Eligible recipients shall include qualified nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, and public entities. Funds are not intended to support private commercial ventures or activities that do not provide a clear charitable and community benefit to the region.
